Young Olympians Info

The Young Olympians Program (YOP) is an introductory program for the Olympic Development Program (ODP).  This program is conducted in four regions of the state (south, shore, central and north). The YOP provides training in each region and concludes with a 4v4 and 9v9 tournament.

The goal of the YOP is to facilitate a high-level training environment and offer to the participants opportunities to train and compete with other aspiring players from around the state.

The YOP provides to players an introduction experience to the Olympic Development Program, the opportunity to become familiar with the training curriculum used by the ODP and showcase their abilities to our ODP coaching staff.

Program Outline

The Young Olympians Program includes:

  • 3 x 75-minute Training sessions (March/April May)
  • 4 v 4 Tournament (June)

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I train at a different location than my designation at sign-up?

Changing locations will not be permitted due to the need to maintain sufficient training numbers and coaches for each location.

Why is Young Olympians limited to 50 players at each location?

Ensuring developmentally appropriate training sessions with ample space, player to coach ratio, and meaningful touches on the ball for each player will necessitate the planning for no more than 50 players.

What is the purpose of the Young Olympians Program?

The purpose of the program is to provide high quality soccer training while introducing the players to the Olympic Development Program (ODP) pathway. We are not a club team but rather a training program with the purpose of increasing the player's talent beginning at a young age.

What if I cannot attend all sessions?

Attendance at training sessions is not mandatory, however we encourage you to attend as many sessions as possible. The fee will not be prorated for missing a training session/s.
