The Young Olympians Program (YOP) is an introductory program for the Olympic Development Program (ODP). This program is conducted in four regions of the state (south, shore, central and north). The YOP provides training in each region and concludes with a mini-camp and small-sided festival.
The goal of the YOP is to facilitate a high level training environment and offer to the participants opportunities to train and compete with other aspiring players from around the state.
The YOP provides to players an introduction experience to the Olympic Development Program, the opportunity to become familiar with the training curriculum used by the ODP and showcase their abilities to our ODP coaching staff.
The Young Olympians Program includes:
· 4 x 1.5hr Training sessions
· 1 Tournament
The Young Olympian Curriculum is designed to give to players opportunities to focus upon a broad range of skills and then apply these skills within small-sided games.
Pre-registration is required. Registration is limited to fifty (50) players per region (North, Central, Shore or South) on a first come – first served basis. This limited enrollment aims at ensuring an optimal training environment. New Jersey Youth Soccer will create a wait list and seek solutions for those individuals desiring to participate if demand exceeds capacity.
