General Tryouts Info
· How early do I arrive at tryouts? Please arrive 45 minutes prior to start time.
· How do I check in? On your first day of tryout, you will need to visit the registration table and receive your tryout number.
· Do I use the same tryout number for all tryouts? Yes, you will be given 6 sets of tryout bibs with safety pins that you will bring to every tryout.
· Once I’ve registered where do I go? Once you registered you will leave your bag in designated area and walk over to the coaching staff who will log in your tryout number and playing position.
· Do I bring a ball? Yes, you must bring a properly inflated size appropriate ball. (Size 4, U12 and below) (Size 5, U13 and above).
· Do I wear any specific shirt? We ask that you arrive in a white shirt in addition bring a black shirt that will also be worn during tryouts.
· Will water be supplied? Water will not be supplied, and we ask that each player come hydrated and with plenty of water for hydration breaks.
Stage 1
· Do I need to come to all four tryouts? Players can attend all four stage 1 tryouts, which will increase your chances of being selected.
· Do I need to email NJYS if I am not attending a tryout day? No, you don’t need to email us.
· Do I check in every time I arrive at a tryout? No, you don’t need to check in each time. You come to field with your designated number attached to your shorts.
· When will I know if I made it to stage 2 tryouts? Players will be notified by August 12th if they are invited to Stage 2 via email.
Stage 2
· When are Stage 2 Tryouts? Stage 2 Tryouts will be held on (August 20th and 21st). Training times and locations for each age group will remain the same. Times will be added to our website in the upcoming week.
· Do I need to be invited to stage 2? Yes, all players that attend stage 2 are players that have been selected through stage 1.
Selection for ODP
· When will I be notified? Players will be notified after Stage 2 tryouts if they have made their age group pool around September 1st via email.
· Where can I find the ODP Schedule for 2022/2023? You can find our tentative 22/23 ODP Schedules on our website. They are subject to change. Locations have not been confirmed at this time. Schedules will be updated once locations are confirmed.
· Where are ODP training sessions held? ODP training sessions will be around Central Jersey.
· Is it important that I attend all ODP events? We ask selected players to be fully committed to our program.
Parent Information
· Will there be a parent viewing area? Yes, there will be a parent viewing area. We ask that parent remain in this area and refrain from comminating with players during the tryouts.
· Do parents need to be present at check in? Parents can be present at check in, but it is not necessary.
· Can parents/guardian drop off their kids and leave? We ask that parents remain on site.
